Auctus Management successfully completes 25,000 tests using Intelligent Fingerprinting

  • Part of comprehensive candidate validation process by Auctus Management, with rapid fingerprint drugs test, alcohol breathalyzer, CSCS check, and biometric access card production all completed in just 11 minutes
  • Easy-to-use fingerprint sweat test selected to promote construction worker health and safety adherence

Auctus Management Group, has successfully completed 25,000 Intelligent Fingerprinting drug tests on one of the largest construction sites in Europe.

The innovative Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System uses sweat to determine recent ingestion of cocaine, opiates, methamphetamine or cannabis. Auctus Management Group has successfully deployed the system as part of a comprehensive construction worker induction process. Candidates are required to take the Intelligent Fingerprinting drug test, which delivers results onsite within minutes. During this time, the candidate also undergoes an alcohol test, has their Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card checked, and their biometric card is produced.

Richard Toy, CEO of Auctus Management Group, explained, “We won the contract to screen and provide employee inductions for this construction project  –one of the largest construction sites in Europe, and a key differentiator for us was our proposal to use the Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System. This helped our tender stand out against traditional urine and saliva drug testing alternatives. When we initially looked at the logistics involved, it simply was not feasible to use traditional urine-based drug tests, especially because of the need for dedicated drug test restroom facilities for that many people. The Intelligent Fingerprinting test has many benefits, including rapid on-site results, hygiene, non-intrusiveness and convenience for testing at scale. The test continues to work very well, and we are proud to now have completed this significant milestone of 25,000 fingerprint drug tests for this particular project.”

“Efficiency is the key, and we have a highly efficient screening process featuring the Intelligent Fingerprinting system at its core. We run six consultation cubicles. On entry, the candidate provides a fingerprint sweat sample, taking less than a minute. While we wait a few short minutes for the Intelligent Fingerprinting results, we breathalyze for alcohol consumption, check CSCS credentials, and, if required, can also take the biometric details for their security cards. This is now a proven delivery process, enabling us to take each candidate through the process in only 11 minutes. We simply could not deliver this project at scale using urine or saliva drug tests,” he concluded.

Auctus Management Group leads the transformation of the UK’s infrastructure with rail, civils, and utilities expertise via its group members, RSS Infrastructure and INFRA Skills. They provide services ranging from Arboriculture to Welding, excel in the delivery of client projects, offer high-quality training for the rail and construction sectors, and manage high-profile induction programmes.

Plans to Add Fentanyl Testing to Fingerprint-Based Drug Screening Solution

Intelligent Bio Solutions Plans to Add Fentanyl Testing as it Further Enhances its Fingerprint-Based Drug Screening Solution

Lab-testing pathway to expand capabilities of proprietary drug test screening to detect potent opioid fentanyl and fentanyl-adulterated street drugs

Opioid crisis estimated to be costing the U.S. $1.5 trillion annually; illicitly manufactured fentanyl by far the most commonly involved opioid in overdose deaths

May 16, 2023 Intelligent Bio Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: INBS) (“INBS” or the “Company”), a medical technology company delivering intelligent, rapid, non-invasive testing solutions, today announced plans to add the potent synthetic opioid drug, fentanyl, and fentanyl-adulterated street drugs, to the panel of substances detected by its lab-based confirmation testing using fingertip sweat collected by its proprietary Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System.

According to CDC figures[1], U.S. overdose deaths were at a run rate of over 100,000 for the 12 months ended November 2022, with 81.9% of these deaths involving at least one opioid. Illicitly manufactured fentanyl is by far the most commonly involved opioid[2]. The Company is combatting this healthcare crisis by expanding the capabilities of its lab-based confirmation testing service to detect fentanyl and its related analogues in samples collected by its fingerprint-based drug testing system.

“By seeking to add fentanyl and other fentanyl-adulterated street drugs to our fingerprint-based lab-based confirmation drug testing panel, we are furthering our commitment to equipping workplaces to better combat the opioid issue. Fentanyl, and fentanyl-adulterated street drugs such as Tranq, continue to fuel an opioid crisis that the U.S. Joint Economic Committee estimates[3] is costing the country nearly $1.5 trillion a year and causing tragic impacts to many lives. We believe making drug testing for fentanyl non-invasive, quick, and hygienic is an important step towards addressing this crisis,” said Harry Simeonidis, President and CEO of Intelligent Bio Solutions.

The unique, non-invasive Intelligent Fingerprinting system features a hygienic, non-biohazardous collection cartridge that collects ten fingerprint sweat samples in under a minute. Fingerprint testing provides a quick and dignified approach that is much more convenient than traditional urine or saliva drug testing methods. Picogram levels of chemical sensitivity will allow the presence of fentanyl or fentanyl-adulterated street drugs to be identified by laboratory tests using Liquid Chromatography with tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis.

“Fentanyl is estimated to be around 50 times more potent than heroin, and detection can be challenging given that just 2mg of fentanyl is considered to be a fatal dose by the DEA[4]. Intelligent Fingerprinting’s proprietary testing approach features an advanced sample collection cartridge technology that is suitable for confirming the presence of fentanyl and street drugs through back-to-the-lab LC-MS/MS tests. This is an area that we believe could represent a significant market opportunity for INBS, both in the US and other international markets,” Mr. Simeonidis added.

In addition to its portability and ease-of-use, the non-invasive nature of the Intelligent Fingerprint drug test can also help provide early intelligence on cause of death, with fingerprint test samples providing evidence of recent use of opiates, methamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis.

Dodman Latest to Adopt Portable Fingerprint Drug Testing Solution

UK Food Processing Equipment Manufacturer Latest to Adopt Portable Fingerprint Drug Testing Solution

“Having experienced urine drug testing myself, I know it’s not a pleasant experience for anyone. So, when it came to selecting a drug screening approach for Dodman, it was clear that fingerprint testing was a major step forward for workplace drug testing.” – Chris Davies, Health and Safety Manager, Dodman

Intelligent Bio Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: INBS) (“INBS” or the “Company”), a medical technology company delivering intelligent, rapid, non-invasive testing solutions, today announced that UK manufacturer Dodman Limited (“Dodman”), specialists in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of processing systems for major food manufacturers, has selected INBS’s Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System to support random and for cause drug testing activities across its operations over traditional urine tests.

Dodman, a 30-year-old family business, sought to introduce drug testing proactively to protect and enhance its health and safety reputation. After assessing the workplace drug testing product market, Dodman’s Human Resources team selected the Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System.

The system comprises a small, tamper-evident drug screening cartridge onto which ten fingerprint sweat samples are collected in under a minute, before the portable analysis unit provides an on-screen result in under ten minutes. The system can be used in-house and screens the sweat for recent drug use, including cannabis, cocaine, opiates, and methamphetamine.

Intelligent Fingerprinting – Visual deterrent, positive competitive differentiator

Chris Davies, Health and Safety Manager at Dodman, commented, “For the first time, the portability of the Intelligent Fingerprinting system means that we can test employees both at our HQ operations as well as on-site at our clients’ food manufacturing facilities where our employees are involved in lifting to install, or servicing heavy machinery with sharp and potentially dangerous components. The Intelligent Fingerprinting system can be used on-site with results quickly available within minutes. It’s a great way of encouraging our employees to adhere to health and safety policies, and also is a strong differentiator for Dodman. Our clients’ like to see our approach to enforcing our Drug Policy, highlighting our commitment to health and safety on their sites as well as ours, and we’ve received positive feedback.”

Random drug testing – protecting business reputation

“We have introduced random drug testing with Intelligent Fingerprinting to protect and promote our reputation. We are constantly using fork lifts, spider, and gantry cranes, lifting heavy stainless steel components both in our factory and on-site for our blue-chip clients. We see introducing random employee drug testing – right across the business from our Managing Director down – as a proactive safety measure for all. With the increased use of drugs in society, we wanted to promote random drug testing to keep our employees safe and also to promote our company’s commitment to health and safety as a differentiator for current and future client contracts,” added Mr. Davies.

A better way than urine tests

“With my background in the military, I have experienced drug testing first-hand. Urine tests are unpleasant for all involved – there is nothing nice about them for the tester or the indignity for the candidate. As soon as I saw how quick, unintrusive and easy to use the Intelligent Fingerprinting drug testing system is, I knew it was the in-house system for Dodman. It is so quick and easy, I was surprised how it worked in the initial demo, but once the Intelligent Fingerprinting team explained the science to me, it all made absolute sense. We have every confidence in the system,” concluded Mr. Davies.

“We’re excited that Dodman has selected our Intelligent Fingerprinting solution to support their drug testing activities,” said Harry Simeonidis, President and CEO of Intelligent Bio Solutions. “While most companies recognize the importance of drug testing to help ensure employees’ safety, many people are simply uncomfortable with traditional urine drug testing methods. We are happy to offer an organization like Dodman an alternative method that is portable, quick, efficient and highly accurate.”
